Visiting Primegala
Where is Primegala Medical Centre located?
Primegala Medical Centre is at Maili Sita Centre on the Nakuru–Nyahururu Road, opposite Kiamaina Primary School, in Kabatini Ward, Nakuru North (Bahati) Sub-County, Nakuru County. It is about six miles (roughly 10 km) from Nakuru town.
Is Primegala open 24 hours?
Yes. Primegala Medical Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Does Primegala accept SHA?
Yes. Primegala accepts the Social Health Authority (SHA) for eligible services. Bring your national ID so our front desk can confirm your eligibility. Primary care visits are covered under the Primary Healthcare Fund.
What services does Primegala Medical Centre offer?
Primegala offers general outpatient care, 24-hour urgent care, maternity and antenatal care, family planning including long-acting methods, child health and immunisation, HIV testing and counselling, laboratory tests, pharmacy, inpatient admission, diabetes and hypertension follow-up, and minor procedures.
What level of facility is Primegala?
Primegala Medical Centre is a KEPH Level 3 medical centre registered on the Kenya Master Health Facility Registry, established in March 2022.
How do I book an appointment at Primegala?
You can book online on our website, send us a WhatsApp message, or simply walk in. Walk-ins are welcome at any hour.
How do I get to Primegala from Nakuru town?
Take the Nakuru–Nyahururu Road (B5) north from Nakuru town towards Bahati. At Maili Sita Centre, about 10 km from town, look for Kiamaina Primary School: Primegala is directly opposite. Matatus heading towards Bahati, Kiamaina and Nyahururu pass the door.
What payment methods does Primegala accept?
Primegala accepts SHA, M-Pesa, Cash. Ask our front desk which private insurance schemes we currently accept. We explain what is covered, and any cost to you, before treatment.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring your national ID or birth certificate (for children), the phone registered with SHA, any previous medical records or prescriptions, a list of medicines you take, and your Mother & Child Health booklet for pregnancy and child visits.

Is my medical information kept private?

No. Walk-ins are welcome 24 hours a day. Booking ahead online helps us prepare for your visit.
Is Primegala really open at night?
Yes. Primegala Medical Centre is listed on the Kenya Master Health Facility Registry as open 24 hours, every day of the year, including public holidays.
Can I deliver at Primegala using SHA?
Registered SHA members can access delivery services at Level 3 facilities. Ask our front desk to check your SHA status during an antenatal visit, well before your due date.
How many antenatal visits should I have?
Kenya follows the WHO recommendation of at least eight antenatal contacts, starting in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
Does Primegala offer long-acting family planning methods?
Yes. Long-acting methods such as implants and the IUCD (coil) are listed services for Primegala on the Kenya Master Health Facility Registry.
What vaccines does my baby need in Kenya?
The national schedule starts at birth (BCG and polio), continues at 6, 10 and 14 weeks, then measles-rubella at 9 and 18 months. Our article on the Kenya immunisation schedule explains each step.
Is HIV testing at Primegala confidential?
Yes. Your result is shared only with you. Health records are protected under the Health Act, 2017 and the Data Protection Act, 2019.
Can I do a malaria test at night in Nakuru North?
Yes. Primegala is open 24 hours on the Nakuru–Nyahururu Road at Maili Sita, and malaria testing is available around the clock.
Is the Primegala pharmacy open at night?
The pharmacy serves patients of the 24-hour clinic around the clock.
Does Primegala admit patients?
Yes. Inpatient services are listed for Primegala Medical Centre on the Kenya Master Health Facility Registry.
How often should I check my blood pressure?
Adults should have their blood pressure checked at least once a year, and more often if it has been high before or you have diabetes, kidney disease or a family history.
Can I get stitches at night?
Yes. Primegala is open 24 hours for wound care and stitching.
