Editorial & Health Content Policy
How Primegala writes, reviews and updates health information in the Health Hub, and the advertising standards we follow.
Health information affects real decisions. This policy explains how Primegala Medical Center and Nursing Home creates and maintains the content in our Health Hub and across this website.
Our principles
- Accurate: based on current guidance from Kenya's Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization and peer-reviewed evidence.
- Local: written for families in Nakuru County, with Kenyan medicines, foods, services and the SHA system in mind.
- Clear: plain language, answer-first, with key facts in tables and checklists.
- Honest: no exaggerated claims, no promised outcomes and no criticism of other providers, in line with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists (Practitioners and Health Facilities) (Advertising) Rules, 2016.
- Independent: we don't accept payment or sponsorship for health content, and we don't promote specific drug brands.
How content is created
- Topic selection: based on the questions our patients ask most often.
- Drafting: by our team, sometimes with the help of digital writing tools, including AI assistants.
- Clinical review: every article is reviewed by a registered health professional before it is marked "Clinically reviewed". The reviewer's name and the review date appear on the article.
- Publication: with the publication date clearly shown.
Keeping content up to date
- Every health article is reviewed at least every 12 months, or sooner if national guidelines change.
- SHA-related content is checked whenever SHA publishes new benefit rules.
- Updated articles show the date of the most recent change.
Corrections
If you spot an error, please email info@primegala.co.ke. We'll review it promptly and correct confirmed errors.
Patient stories and images
We will only share a patient's story, name or image with their written, informed consent, and they may withdraw it at any time. Scenarios that are illustrative rather than real are clearly labelled.
